No. Research ethics affects work undertaken across charities, healthcare, education, government, industry, community organisations and many other settings. REA encourages interdisciplinary and cross-sector participation.

No. REA is an educational charity and does not provide formal ethical approval for individual research projects. Researchers must follow the approval requirements of their institution, funder, professional body or other responsible organisation.

Yes. The Research Ethics Association is registered as a charity in England and Wales. Our registered charity number is 1213363.

Yes. Although REA is registered in England and Wales, research ethics is international and interdisciplinary. People and organisations outside the UK are welcome to use our publicly available resources and participate in opportunities where eligibility allows.
